DETAILED TOUR ITINERARY FOR 08 NIGHTS & 09 DAYS

Guwahati – Bomdila – Tawang – Dirang – Kaziranga – Guwahati

Day 01:  Guwahati

 On your arrival at the Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, you will be welcomed by our representative and guided to your hotel. Freshen up yourself at Hotel for visit to Kamakhya temple.After prayer at temple,return to Hotel.You can spend the rest of the day at leisure. You can use this time to explore the nearby regions, taste the local street food, communicate with the locals, etc. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 02:  Guwahati – Bhalukpong

In the morning, post breakfast, drive to Bhalukpong (240km – 5 hrs) via Tezpur. While crossing Tezpur, you will witness the picturesque tea gardens. After fulfilling the entrance formalities, you have now entered the region of amplitudes of unending natural beauty, Arunachal Pradesh. Apart from being the nature lover’s paradise, Bhalukpong can provide you a complete experience with wildlife and a host of activities complimenting its natural beauty and the environment of a place lesser known. It has dense lush green forests and has immense scenic beauty.The Kameng River running in the forest surrounding it makes the town even more attractive. Day 03:  Bhalukpong-Bomdila

 Early morning,post breakfast,start drive to Bomdila. Bomdila is the headquarters of the West Kameng district of the state of Arunachal Pradesh. Bomdila offers to the tourist panoramic view of the awesome Himalayan terrain with its snow-covered mountains. It is famous for its apple orchids and travelers can take a walk through them. Reach your hotel, check-in, and halt for an overnight stay.

Day 04:  Bomdila-Tawang

 Post breakfast, get ready to drive for Tawang.Enroute cover Sela Pass which lies on your way to Tawang city.The pass does make a great place to stop and relax admiring the awesomeness of the surroundings. Tawang Located at a height of about 3048m, is known for many important and beautiful monasteries and is famous as the birth place of Dalai Lama.The beautiful town of Tawang, also pronounced as Dawang has many sceneries to make your trip a picturesque one. However, what begins to define the area is its significance for Buddhist monks. Tawang is the place to go for monasteries, with the Tawang Monastery being the most popular one and extremely sacred for the Buddhists. Tawang is a place which will flatter you with its natural beauty wrapped in the scent of spirituality. Stay overnight at Hotel

Day 05: Tawang

After breakfast, visit local sightseeing of Tawang. Arunachal Pradesh’s tourist gem, the Tawang Monastery is India’s largest monastery, and the world’s second largest. Situated on a mountain in the town of Tawang, Tawang Monastery is one of the most important Buddhist sites in the world.The monastery is the centre of the Gelug school (Yellow Hat) of Mahayana Buddhism, and is bordered with a 282 m long compound wall. It is a collection of 65 residential buildings for the monks, as well as other structures for different uses. Tawang Monastery was established in 1680-81, at the request of the 5th Dalai Lama, by his contemporary Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso.After Tawang Monastery,visit to War Memorial: Tawang War Memorial, a 40 foot high multi-hued memorial, has a structure constructed in stupa design. Dedicated to the martyrs of Sino-India War held in 1962, this memorial is nestled among beautiful peaks, which overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley. Popularly known as Namgyal Chorten, the memorial has names of 2,420 dead soldiers. Evening return to Tawang. Stay overnight at Hotel

Day 06:  Tawang

After breakfast, set off for Bumla Pass and Madhuri Lake (through local vehicle, charges to be borne by tourist). At an elevation of 5,000 m above the sea level, the Bum La Pass marks the Indo-China border. A prominent attraction of Arunachal Pradesh, the place is a must visit but only when you have the special permit from Office of the Deputy Commissioner in Tawang District, and then Indian army cantonment of Tawang. The place instantly evokes a feeling of patriotism, especially after watching soldiers protecting the border that too in such nerve-wracking weather condition. Also, it was through this pass, Dalai Lama entered India. Also, there’s a lake called Sangestar Tso (Madhuri Lake), which is worth a watch. Make a point to get a picture clicked, and place a pebble stone in front of the Heap of Stones, which is a tribute to the Indian Army guardians of the border. Evening return to Tawang. Day 07:  Tawang – Dirang

 On the way to Dirang, Get ready to witness the breathtaking sights of waterfalls at Jang. Explore the serenity of the area. This place again serves magnificent view of natural settlement. While returning to your hotel, stop at Sela Top (13,700 ft). This destination is again worth visiting due to the tranquility of the place. Check in your hotel at Dirang, freshen-up and take a little rest. You may opt to take gradual walks around the areas of the hotel. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 08:  Dirang-Kaziranga

 Drive to the Kaziranga National Park , early in the morning. One horned rhinos set to the popularity of this place. On the way, visit Tezpur, gateway town to Arunachal Pradesh, nestled on the banks of river Brahmaputra. This place also host of some ancient mythological sites. Reaching Kaziranga, check into Kaziranga Tourist lodge, freshen up and take a little rest. You can spend some time in leisure walks to the nearby areas. Return to the lodge for the overnight stay.

Day 09: Kaziranga-Guwahati-Drop

 Start your day with exciting elephant safari/Jeep safari and exploring central area of Kaziranga National park. Witness some of the pleasing sights of animals performing their natural activities in the park. Post lunch,start your drive for Guwahati,reach Guwahati and you will be guided and transferred to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station to continue your onward journey.
