DAY 1: Kohima

Welcome to Nagaland. Today you meet your guide at Dimapur Airport and surface transfer the bumpy road to Kohima. Enroute you visit local markets where locals are selling vegetables, fruits and other indigenous products. On reaching Kohima, check in to your Hotel. Freshen up to have dinner and retire for the evening.

DAY 2:Kohima

After a sound sleep wake up to experience the Famous Festival of Festivals “Hornbill”. You take a stroll to local markets which are full of eatable insects and worms of varieties and other organic vegetables sold by the locals. A walk to 2nd WW memorial neatly maintained and you shall get a great view of Kohima town and heading straight to Kisama, We shall spend the rest of our day in Hornbill festival filled with songs and dances, and people in full festive mood with colorful attires. We shall also see shops where you can pick up souvenirs to take home for your dear ones. We then shall have lunch at the festival where you can taste local food available in varieties. We shall visit Phesama village in the afternoon where you are going to experience the traditional lifestyle of the Angami Nagas.Overnight stay at kohima.

DAY 3 : Kohima

Wake up to a healthy breakfast and proceed to Kigwema Village. You will see that every village is unique and different from one another, getting ideas about the village life, we come across huge wood carvings infront of rich men’s houses.Afterwhich we shall spent the rest of our day in the hornbill festival. Lunch at Hornbill festival. We shall be looking forward to see more fascinating and ethnic culture of the Nagas. We shall participate in the night carnival at Kohima where we shall see people selling different items from Christmas decorations to chicken barbeque. One of the most interesting aspect of the carnival is the whole street being filled and flooded with people taking their family and friends for fun and dinner.Overnight Kohima Hotel/Homestay

DAY 4 : Kohima

New adventure and new experience awaits. Today after breakfast, we shall drive to Khonoma village, exploring the village which is 20 km from Kohima. Khonoma village is the first Green Village of the country. Enlightened with the stories of warriors and the struggles of the Angamis against the British Army, as you come across ceremonial gates, forts, morung, age-group houses, cairn circles, you will also meet local craftsmen who make cane basket and women weavers and interact with the friendly villagers. Drive to the buffer zone KNCTS (Khonoma Nature Conservation & Tragopan Sanctuary) for a Picnic lunch and get a chance to see the Mithun (State animal of Nagaland), hear birds’ chirping, breathing thin clean air!Or you have the option to take a “Nature Walk” you may take a slow leisure walk towards the organic farming area, collect wildly grown organic vegetables and herbal plants, Get to see how the people of Khonoma practice one of the most sustainable way of doing jhum cultivation with Alder trees! Having acquainted with lots of wonderful memories and experiences we shall now be heading to Kohima for overnight stay.

DAY 5 : Kohima

 Today you visit the legendary village, Khezakheno Village to extend your cultural knowledge about Nagaland. Many of the present Naga Villages migrated from this village! we shall drive to Khezhakeno village, a Chakhesang Naga village and the ancestral home of Naga tribes. Khezakheno is not only has to offer history and cuture but is also popular owing to its natural splendour as seen in the Chidalake. Visit Chida lake, a beautiful mystic lake with natural surrounding which borders Manipur. A great place to stay away from the city’s business and busy streets.Overnight Kohima Hotel/Homestay

DAY 6 : Kohima

Today full day at hornbill festival, more of cultural performances and activities. Lunch at one of the local foodstalls, more of Hornbill festival and later witness the closing ceremony in the evening where there will be fireworks and war cry and besides that there will be performances by various local artistes. DAY 7 : Kohima-Dimapur

We journey down to Dimapur to connect your flight for onward destination waving goodbye to the mystic land of the Naga hills.
